Garage Program Travelers Garage PacSM is designed for independently operated or franchised automotive service and repair businesses. With GARAGEKEEPERS coverage, the insured must select a limit for each location, which, at times, can be difficult. Because GARAGEKEEPERS coverage is physical damage coverage, deductibles apply to “covered losses.” And, as there is no "coinsurance-type" penalty for underinsurance, but care should be used in the selection of the limit because a catastrophic total loss (like a tornado) could leave the insured without adequate coverage. One way to determine the limit is to consider the average value of the vehicles in the insured's care times the average number of vehicles in the insured's care at a given time. For example, if the average value of customers’ vehicles is $20,000 and the average number of vehicles on hand is 10, a limit of $200,000 would be selected. Garagekeepers Covering legal liability for damages to vehicles that the dealer does not own but that are left in the dealer’s “care, custody or control.” - Direct Primary Coverage for the dealer even if the loss is not the dealer’s fault and is not legally liable
- Excess coverage over the limit the actual vehicle owner or customer has from his or her own insurance company and it will typically pay if your customer does not carry his own insurance.
